Inaugural Dinner
Each year, the Americas Society hosts the black tie Inaugural Dinner to launch a new season of programs. During the dinner, the Society awards its Gold Insigne to a democratically elected head of state from the Western Hemisphere whose work promotes greater awareness of the cultural, social, and political realities of the region. Past honorees include Oscar Arias Sánchez, Patricio Alwyn, Alvaro Uribe, and Fernando Henrique Cardoso.
