Argentinean singer and percussionist Mariana Baraj explores the classic Argentinean and Latin American folk repertoire with modern flair. Her passion for working in diverse genres results in a fusion that blends folk music with striking new styles, textures, and timbres. Her expressive voice and musicianship recontextualize the heartfelt rhythms and emotions of Latin American folk music in a deeply personal way that manages to be at once fresh and timeless. She has performed and collaborated with artists around the globe, releasing multiple albums of solo and collaborative work. Both intellectually and emotionally compelling, Baraj creates a space within the tradition that is distinctively and unmistakably her own.

This event is presented in collaboration with the Consulate General of Argentina in New York and will take place at their venue at 12 West 56th.
