Bolivian guitarist Piraí Vaca has been called "one of the outstanding guitarists in the world" by the Rhein Zeitung. He was awarded the Fellowship of the Americas from the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. and received numerous prizes from Bolivian organizations. He has won top prizes at prestigious international guitar festivals in Latin America and Europe, and is a member of the FENIX International Guitar Quartet. Vaca studied at the Instituto Superior de Arte in Havana, under Manuel Barrueco in the United States and at the Musikhochschule in Cologne. He has performed in Latin America, the United States and Europe. His Americas Society debut will feature Bolivian music and works by Baroque composers.
