Review 73: Brazilian Writing and Arts juxtaposes rediscovered iconoclasts, such as 19th century poet Sousândrade; Brazilian Modernist Pagu; and Nise da Silveira, the creator of the first art therapy workshop in Rio, with contemporary cultural figures such as vital artist Paula Trope and performance artist Márcia X. The issue incorporates a special focus on Augusto de Campos, renowned poet and one of the founders of the Concrete Poetry Movement, articles by Brazilian scholars on topics ranging from public art to Brazilian soccer, and new translations of the work of poets such as Ana Cristina César, Francisco Alvim, and Waly Salomão. Antonio Sergio Bessa (Bronx Museum of Arts) and Nicolau Sevcenko (Universidade de São Paulo/Harvard) served as guest editors for creative and academic content for this issue, respectively.
