Video: Symposium - Cityscapes of Rio and Bahia, Brazil and Panel Discussion: Literature from Bahia

In this opening event of the Cityscapes of Rio and Bahia, Brazil symposium, a group of contemporary Brazilian writers, translators, and scholars of Brazilian literature discussed currents in poetry, fiction, essays, and song lyrics from the city of Salvador (Bahia). The event featured novelist Helena Parente Cunha (Woman Between Mirrors), poet Lande Onawale (O vento), scholar Earl Fitz (Vanderbilt University), translator Gregory Rabassa (translator of Jorge Amado, Clarice Lispector, and others), and critic Peggy Sharpe (moderator) (Florida State University). In Portuguese and English.
