Review 78: U.S. Latino Culture

Spring 2009

Review 78 is comprised of an academic section containing articles by leading scholars on U.S. Latino writing and culture, and a creative section of poetry, prose, essays, and interviews by/with Latino writers of Chilean, Cuban, Dominican, Guatemalan, Mexican and Puerto Rican heritage. The featured writers include those participants above as well as Junot Díaz, Martín Espada, Francisco Goldman, Demetria Martínez, and others; also included are a special feature by Sergio Ramírez, an essay on punk-art in East L.A.; and an interview with the iconic singer Linda Ronstadt.

Review 78 is the second part of a two-issue project that has explored immigration and culture in the Americas. This issue focuses on first, second, and subsequent generations of immigrant writers whose development has largely taken place within the United States.
